When the Duke of Sussex returned last month for a visit to the United Kingdom, someone was waiting for him with open arms.
Unfortunately, it was not a family member but his stalker.
Telegraph reports that during the visit (when he finally met again with his father, the King), the woman managed to approach him at least twice and even entered a secured area in a hotel where the WellChild Awards event took place, where he was being honored.
Two days later, on September 11, a member of his staff recognized the woman, who had approached them again, and asked her to leave the premises.
The woman is on a list of people considered “obsessed” with the royal family.
It is a file compiled with the help of a private security company. It is estimated that the woman, whose mental state is unknown, follows him around the world. Among other places, she traveled to Nigeria, where he and his spouse stayed for three days last year.
Unfortunately, he appears to be the only one taking this list seriously.
Earlier this year, he lost the battle to receive government protection for himself and his family during visits to the United Kingdom.
During this current visit, he had to fund most of the security himself, except for one day when the Metropolitan Police volunteered to accompany him during the WellChild charity event, as it was a large, publicized ceremony with many guests, including children.
His aides reported that he felt “abandoned” and also “guilty,” knowing that his status puts those around him at risk, especially now without proper protection.
Regarding the stalker, they said: “His staff should not be the ones providing physical security. This should not happen.
Only one person with enough willpower is needed, and it could end badly.”
Government protection was removed after he and his spouse left the United Kingdom for the United States and informed the Queen that they would not return to fulfill their royal duties.
As a result, their royal titles were revoked, and he lost his military titles.
In addition, they are no longer eligible for protection since they are no longer considered active royals.
The last decision was a hard blow for him, prompting him to go to court in an attempt to regain full security for himself and his family.
The court ruled against him this year. His spouse and their two children have not returned to the United Kingdom since 2022.
Perhaps now, with news of the stalker, public opinion will change or maybe that was the purpose of releasing the story through an anonymous source, who is certainly not him or his spouse.
